This realization led him, the distinguished intellectual, to recognize that his deepest encounter with himself and with the Lord came not from his reading or reflection, but from his prayerful dialogue, heart to heart, with Christ, alive and present. It was in the Eucharist that Newman encountered the living heart of Jesus, capable of setting us free, giving meaning to each moment of our lives, and bestowing true peace"

Why the Sacred Heart of Jesus
"The Sacred Heart of Jesus Chapel points to the essence of our faith; a deep and personal relationship with Jesus. The chapel is a sanctuary where students, staff, and faculty can go and spend time with Jesus, heart to heart. Over this past year I have noticed many students spending time in the chapel. I sensed a love for spending time in prayer before the Real Presence of Jesus. This made an impact in my youth and to this day my prayer is that this chapel may be a place where students can go and connect with Jesus heart to heart. Thus, the Sacred Heart of Jesus Chapel."
